ANTLER, N.D. – A Bottineau county couple who can no longer farm some of their land because of repeated saltwater spills filed a lawsuit this week against oil company Petro Harvester.
Daryl and Christine Peterson allege the company is responsible for 10 spills since 2011 and is seeking the court to order a cleanup, assess civil penalties and award damages.
“My goal is probably not for myself personally, it’s for my grandchildren and the future,” said Daryl Peterson, whose farmland near Antler, about 50 miles north of Minot, has been in his family for more than 50 years.
